A recent video that user Parveen Kaswan posted on Twitter shows an extremely touching and emotional moment. In the video, we see a somber situation as people and cars stop an empty road to help bereaved elephants, rather than in protest.
In the footage, an elephant can be seen gently approaching while holding a young elephant’s deceased body in its trunk. Elephant in anguish delicately drops the dead calf on the other side of the road. More elephants come in, creating a somber circle around the young elephant that has passed away.
The family of elephants won’t leave the baby’s side, Parveen Kaswan, the person who posted the video, observes, leading to a solemn “funeral procession.” They grieve, but in time they get over it. They do, however, carry the dead calf with them, exhibiting a deep sign of sympathy and grief.
Elephants have profound emotional connections, and this moving movie serves as a potent reminder of that, as well as their capacity for mourning their young. It gives us a peek into the intricate and enthralling realm of animal feelings. We are reminded that these amazing animals have feelings of love, empathy, and loss just like the rest of us.
